Hello Reader,
Quick note: my Saturday newsletter now has two parts.
Part 1: Lesson of The Week
Part 2: Behind the Scenes of a Self-Led Entrepreneur
Back to regularly scheduled programming.
📝 Lesson of The Week
A quick deep dive into the mindset, strategies, and systems that help you lead yourself and create the life you're truly capable of.
Self-Awareness = Self-Sabotage (Being stuck even when you know better)
If you’re anything like me - you care a lot about your personal growth.
In the past:
- You’ve read or listened to books.
- You’ve watched videos or taken courses.
- You’ve worked out and tried to eat better.
- You’ve healed some past pain and trauma.
- You’ve invested hard earned money into yourself.
And you’d say it was worth it…
…now you’re smarter, more self-aware, and a bit more skilled.
But you might still have this question in your mind:
“Why am I still stuck when I’ve done so much work on myself?”
That question is a punch to the gut (speaking from experience).
I used to believe that if I worked harder, stayed busier, and added more strategy…
…I’d break through.
Only I ended up more tired, frustrated, and felt further away from the life I actually wanted.
I was driven, ambitious, strategic, and learning at all times.
But I was also procrastinating. Overthinking. Sabotaging. Starting strong, then slipping back to my old ways.
It was like I had two versions of me inside:
- One that wanted to build the dream.
- One that kept quietly pumping the brakes.
It wasn’t because I didn’t care or try hard, quite the opposite actually...
...and it for damn sure wasn’t because I couldn’t see my many patterns and problems.
They were painfully obvious to me.
It was because I didn’t know how to lead myself through them.
And that’s when I realized something that changed my life…
…something I already hinted at earlier.
You can be self-aware… and still self-sabotage.
Because awareness alone doesn’t change behavior…
…it only makes you painfully aware of it.
Self-awareness will lead you to even more self-sabotage.
That sounds shitty right?
If you turn on the lights (awareness) you’ll be able to see, but that doesn’t mean what you see will change.
It only becomes more clear - more noticeable - more inescapable.
What you focus on expands - and when you constantly notice your shortcomings…
…they’ll get even stronger…
…at first.
You started as Un-Aware and moved to Self-Aware.
Next you’ll go from Self-Awareness to Self-Sabotage.
Most people get stuck here - and it’s painful as hell.
Until you make a very important shift.
Evolving from Self-Awareness to Self⚡️Leadership.
That is what we’re going to discuss in Today’s lesson.
Self-Awareness to Self⚡️Leadership
I’m going be a bit direct.
You know what you need to do.
So why are you not doing it?
You see the habits, choices, and patterns holding you back.
So why are you not changing them?
You know deep down you are capable of more than this.
So why are you not stepping up?
You work hard. But it still feels like something is in the way.
It’s you.
Well - let me take that back.
It’s your systems.
“You” are a concept.
A personality - a vessel of consciousness running on autopilot through a variety of systems.
The good news?
Systems can be redesigned, rebuilt, and improved upon.
So before you start beating yourself up, let me explain.
You aren’t in your own way because:
- You’re lazy.
- You’re broken.
- You’re not enough.
Or because you haven’t read some book, got some shiny object, or learned some “hidden secret”.
It’s because the systems running your life weren’t designed to take you where you want to go.
They weren’t built for expansion, happiness, and peace.
They’re built for survival.
The same drive that pushes you to perform and improve - is the same drive that causes you to spiral and get in your own way.
The same fire that made you ambitious…
Is also the fire you burn yourself out with.
So what do you do?
- You set high standards - but procrastinate starting.
- You create momentum - then burn it down.
- You chase freedom - but create pressure instead.
This used to be my reality every single day.
A few years ago, I was living this loop on repeat.
On paper, I was winning.
Self-employed. Making money. “Crushing it.”
But inside?
- I was stuck in cycles of sabotage and shame
- I’d go all in for 6 weeks, then disappear for 6 more
- I was always working, yet constantly feeling behind
- I’d get a moment of peace… and then somehow create chaos again
I didn’t have a “motivation” problem.
I had a self leadership problem…
…driven by the internal and external operating system given to me by:
Family, teachers, and society.
No wonder I was struggling - they couldn’t have set me up to succeed.
I didn’t choose to get in my own way, that was the default.
And when I finally zoomed out?
I saw it clearly:
My impressive drive came from my dysfunction.
And that dysfunction was still embedded in my operating systems.
I’ve seen firsthand that when you upgrade your internal and external systems…
…you’ll get out of your own way and everything else simply falls into place.
Your greatest bottleneck isn’t time, tools, or strategy.
It’s that your internal and external system still runs on survival, even though you're ready for expansion…
…and that is stopping you from leading yourself how you need to.
So... what is self-leadership?
“Self-leadership is the ability to intentionally guide your own thoughts, feelings, and actions towards achieving your goals and objectives. It involves understanding yourself, setting personal goals, and motivating yourself to take action, ultimately leading to a more fulfilling and effective life.”
What this definition doesn’t detail is the fact that your thoughts, feelings, and actions are on autopilot.
Self-Leadership is the byproduct of upgrading your systems.
The byproduct of Self-Leadership is accomplishing your goals:
- Building the business or investment portfolio.
- Living a bitchin life with peace, freedom, and abundance.
- Becoming the highest version of yourself.
Here’s what you can do today to begin this process:
3 Small Shifts to Escape the Self-Aware Sabotage Loop
- Stop Overcommitting. Start Following Through.
Pick one Minimum Viable Win you can complete every day this week - no exceptions.
Rebuild trust with yourself in small doses.
- Trade 100-To-Do-List Chaos for 1-Hour Clarity.
Block off 60 minutes. Pick your most important task.
Turn off all distractions. Start and finish it.
Feel what it’s like to actually complete something that matters.
-
End Your Day Like a Self⚡️Led Success.
Ask yourself a few questions:
- “What are 3 things I am grateful for?”
- “What worked today?”
- “What didn’t work today?”
- “What is next for tomorrow?” (3 core priorities)

⚡️ Behind the Scenes of a Self-Led Entrepreneur
A raw look at what it really takes to live, build, and lead as a Self-Led Entrepreneur scaling to 7 figures.
Touching my dream of owning a retreat center
I toured a property I’ve had my eyes on for a few months, and it is everything I’ve been visualizing and more.
My partner Aubree and I have a vision of creating The Sanctuary.
A property where people can come together for a variety of experiences that fill their cup.
We currently run transformational retreats with our teachers in California, and have been greatly impacted by spaces created for a similar purpose: Expansion. Healing. Community. Connection. Fun. Celebration. Rejuvenation. and more…
We’re committed to creating a safe and harmonious space to hold our growing family and to step into the homestead lifestyle.
This property has a variety of offerings and income sources that would allow us to have the ability to self-sustain and expand with time.
For example:
Airbnb rental income with 11 total units.
Events
- retreats
- weddings
- masterminds / personal development workshops
- community gatherings
- farmers markets
- etc
In addition to that in the future we see us adding health and wellness related amenities such as cold plunges, saunas, and more.
Our priority is community and living a life of service.
This property would give us a perfect space to accomplish that.
If you or someone you know wants to learn more about this project and potentially invest with us, reply to this email.
✅ Win of The Week: "Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."
I have stayed connected to my unbreakable faith in myself, God, and the plan for my life.
❌ Challenge of The Week: Tests, trials, tribulations.
It's taken everything for me not to quit over the last few months.
But - momma didn't raise no Bitch.
One day, this story I am living will be legendary.
What I Am Building & Improving
Lifestyle: Getting more organized and routine oriented.
The future I’m creating requires better stewardship:
- Of myself.
- Of resources.
- Of responsibilities.
Day by day.
Business: Revamped my business and offers.
Now I'm only working with current + aspiring entrepreneurs, and that feels much better.
Currently focused on growing my community Self⚡️Led and assembling a group of business building bad-asses (10+ so far!!)
Good stuff.
Money: Learning to receive and stay open to God's plan.
I had an epiphany the other day.
We put constraints on God by thinking things have to happen a certain logical way.
When God wants to deliver us what we need, in the easiest way possible - and in ways that defies our limited rational mind.
Asking for what I need.
Believing it's already mine.
Staying open to how it arrives.
Receiving it when it does.
